With 139 homes built in
Freeling Estate in just under three years, the town’s rapid development has
been noted by the Light Regional Council who expect the expansion to attract
more commercial opportunities.
The Pines Estate, LANSER Communities’ newest development, has attracted unprecedented enquiry, and further plans to extend Freeling Estate have been approved by the Light Regional Council.
The council’s development and regulatory services manager James Miller expects the township’s population to reach 5000, attracting new tenants such as major supermarkets, transforming the main street. “At the moment we’ve got a takeaway shop, a couple of pubs, a supermarket, a butcher shop and café etc, but I think you’ll start finding some anchor tenants looking to locate in the town when you get that critical mass population of 5000” Miller said.
The Light Regional Council Mayor Bill O’Brien said people have been drawn to Freeling because of its proximity to nearby townships and its community feel.
